Unbridled joy. That was the reaction of Tony and Rose Dobbin and owners the Dimhorns after Monfass landed the £15,475 first prize for the Northern Lights 2m Hurdle Series Final.

This was no ordinary day, this was an afternoon that gave the lesser horses the chance to win decent prize money as it featured the five £25,000 finals of the Northern Lights Series most of whose qualifiers were handicaps for horses rated 0-120.

Although the meeting didn't attract as many runners as hoped, it was competitive fare and Dominic Churchill, who is one of the Dimhorns, said: "It is a brilliant series, it is great to win a prize like this."
