Sceaux could take off in Ryanair at generous 12-1
Un De Sceaux was trimmed into as short as 6-1 with Coral for the Queen Mother Champion Chase but his Tingle Creek triumph was more workmanlike than mind-blowing and, in a roundabout way, Douvan's claims for the two-mile showpiece were enhanced.
Having jumped 11 of the 13 fences in flawless fashion, Un De Sceaux met the last two all wrong so it was testament to his bravery and stamina that he battled back to score narrowly.
So, if Douvan is going to march down the Champion Chase road, perhaps Un De Sceaux could go down the Ryanair route. Speaking at Fairyhouse, Willie Mullins hinted that he was keen to step him back up in trip and the 12-1 BoyleSports are offering about him winning the Ryanair looks very generous indeed.
