Saturday reaction: 'His impressive physique gives hope for next year'
Scott Burton runs the rule over the two-year-old action in Britain and Ireland
On a day full of clues for the future, Juddmonte Cheveley Park heroine Tenebrism made the biggest impression of all.
That is not to detract from the professional way Perfect Power overcame a couple of stumbles to pick up his rivals in the Middle Park, nor to underestimate the raw talent of Beresford Stakes winner Luxembourg.
The videos of all three races will get plenty of replay and analysis from form students during the winter months.
Cheveley Park: Tenebrism overcomes inexperience in real style
After chasing her away from the stalls, Ryan Moore didn't rush Tenebrism but she knew exactly what was required when he put her into the race, and it was hard not to be taken with the way she ran to the line, overhauling the leader Flotus and with three lengths back to Sandrine in third.
While Tenebrism's sire Caravaggio is an influence for speed, she is out of Immortal Verse, a brilliant winner of the Coronation Stakes for Robert Collet and whose own dam was out of a Sadler's Wells mare, therefore giving plenty of encouragement that a mile will be within the compass of Tenebrism next spring. Quotes of 8-1 for the 1,000 Guineas look fair.
More than that, Aidan O'Brien reported that she was only just ready for a run after a setback and with a clear run there is surely more to come.

Middle Park: Perfect Power value for more than winning margin
It is a testament to Perfect Power that he has now won a pair of Group 1s despite being in a far from promising position two furlongs out on both occasions.
Christophe Soumillon pointed out that he stumbled badly running down into the Dip while Richard Fahey was equally convinced that a draw away from the stands' side rail in stall one was a major disadvantage.
Perfect Power is a hugely likeable colt and it would be great to think that everything might fall right for him at least once so he can show his true superiority, while his impressive physique holds out the hope that he can train on next year.

Royal Lodge: Royal Patronage capitalises as Coroebus pays for hard fractions
Royal Patronage looked to be all at sea running down into the Dip before showing great courage to reel in Coroebus in dramatic fashion.
The winner's future may lie on either slightly easier ground or a more conventional track, since he handled quick going well enough at York, a much flatter layout.
But the suspicion remains that Coroebus emptied badly late on and, after a series of sections rattled off at 11.55s, 11.55s and 11.45s, the leaders paddled home in more than 13 seconds for the final furlong.

Beresford Stakes: Luxembourg still learning on the job
Aidan O'Brien winning this race is not in itself news, although the Beresford has become a preferred stopping-off point for the yard's leading middle-distance hopefuls.
Luxembourg clearly has a lot of talent and he overcame a fair degree of greenness on what was a fair step up in class from his Killarney debut.
He is in the right hands to develop into a Derby prospect at three and while 8-1 for Epsom might not be everyone's preferred choice of ante-post investment, he has certainly earned the right to join the debate at this early stage.
