After a blank day on Monday, jump racing resumed at Catterick but it was a productive afternoon only for high-rolling punters as three long odds-on chances obliged in North Yorkshire.

Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden made a rare 540-mile round trek from Somerset pay off with a double highlighted by a winning fencing debut from classy ex-French performer Saint Sonnet.

The 1-5 chance put in a few sketchy jumps along the way before going clear on the run-in to beat Crixus's Escape in the 2m3f novice chase to earn a possible late call up for Nicholls' Cheltenham team.
