Sacre success under Johnson bitter sweet for Flint

Jockey Rhys Flint would have viewed the victory of Lac Sacre in the 2m7½f handicap chase under Richard Johnson with very mixed emotions.

His trainer father John explained: “I feel really sorry for Rhys as he is sat at home with his wrist iced up after being kicked by a horse in the yard this morning – he will not be a happy bunny at all.

“We hoped Lac Sacre had a real chance, even though he has not won for almost four years, as this looked a winnable race and, though he has been a bit frustrating, he is a horse with plenty of ability – it’s just a case of getting him to use it.”
