Ryan records first ever treble in landmark season

John Ryan was a man in clover on Wednesday evening, as not only did the trainer record his first ever treble, but the victory of Willow Grange in the concluding three mile handicap chase meant his tally of 12 winners for the campaign is already his greatest and we are only in the month of September.

“We have had a few doubles in our time but this is great. I have to say I always loved Sligo and this tops it all,” Ryan said.

Ryan was the toast of the Sligo crowd after 13-8 favourite Draycott Place coasted home in the feature Joe Henry Memorial Handicap Chase.
