Russell pins big expectations on impressive novice winner Highland Hunter

Lucinda Russell is plotting some big targets for her exciting prospect Highland Hunter after he ran out an authoritative winner of the 2m4f novice hurdle.

The five-year-old racked up his fourth victory from five starts, his only defeat coming in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April, and the mount of Blair Campbell was always in control to win with complete ease over Stoney Rover.

Russell said: "Everyone at home loves him and knows how much of a nice horse he is. We're just taking small steps with him for now.
