Former England cricketer and Question Of Sport captain Phil Tufnell bowled the bookies over when the well-backed Mont Royale carried the colours of his racing club to victory in the 2m4f handicap chase.

Although Tufnell was absent there was plenty of cheering from club members as the Aidan Coleman-partnered eight-year-old, who was 11-2 in the morning but returned 3-1 favourite, crossed the line ahead of Gowanauthat, and even more smiles back in the winner's circle.
