As Epsom celebrated its first Classic win since 1969 with Harbour Law's St Leger triumph, one of the town's former stalwarts captured the feature race at Bath when Rosie Royale took the £20,000 final of the Summer Staying Series.

Until last year Roger Teal trained in Epsom but after nine seasons relocated to Great Shefford, near Lambourn, to enjoy a revival in fortunes helped by fillies like Rosie Royale, who completed a hat-trick in taking the day's biggest prize under apprentice George Wood.

Teal went to Lingfield with another runner, leaving Roger Kolien, who runs the 15-strong Idle B's syndicate, to collect the trophy.
