Frontiersman won the 1m4f opener in the compelling manner of a late-maturing four-year-old and is set to be aimed at Royal Ascot by Godolphin.

The 5-2 favourite was sent forward by William Buick to challenge Big Country at the two-furlong pole and really got motoring within the last half furlong to finish two and half lengths clear of Top Tug and Mainstream, who both finished the race in eyecatching fashion.

"I've been very impressed with what he showed at home and he's come forward from his run at Doncaster," said winning trainer Charlie Appleby, referring to his fourth-placed seasonal debut last month.
