Rons Dream toughs it out to honour late owner with Listed victory

Rons Dream, racing for the first time since the death of owner Tania Stepney, registered a poignant victory in the Listed mares' chase.

The ultra-consistent eight-year-old, who has been placed to great effect by Peter Bowen, cashed in on the departure of front-running Drinks Interval at the third last, rallying in the final strides to collar even-money favourite Casablanca Mix.

Bowen said: "That was brilliant as it was her first run since her owner died about three months ago. She was a lovely lady in her mid-70s from Somerset who never missed the horse's races."
