Robinshill survives more last-fence drama for Twiston-Davies

There is something about Robinshill and the final fence at Ludlow. The rest of the circuit has proved relatively stress-free for connections of the Nigel Twiston-Davies six-year-old, but for the third time in a row there was drama at the last.

The first occasion this season resulted in the unseat of Jamie Bargary with the race at their mercy. Earlier this month he jinked left under Zac Baker before gaining compensation, and this time the conditional had a greater scare as Robinshill nearly blundered away his chance.

"I don't know why he does that at the last fence," said Baker. "He was a bit cautious but he had been out on his own a long time. It might have also been jumping out of that sticky ground."
