Robinshill gains compensation for unlucky exit last month

Even the most hard-nosed of punters would not deny Robinshill a slice of redemption following his luckless effort at the Shropshire course’s previous meeting when he unceremoniously dumped Jamie Bargary at the final fence with a race at his mercy.

Backers who stuck with Nigel Twiston-Davies’s charge in the 2m novice handicap chase were probably hiding their eyes at the last on this occasion but Zac Baker saw a stride and the six-year-old came away from Joueur Bresilien.

Twiston-Davies said: “The horse was desperately unlucky last time when unseating the rider and the handicapper put him up 4lb for basically getting beaten which was hardly ideal. He jumped pretty well this time around and Zac organised him at the last when seeing a nice stride – so all is well that ends well.”
