It has been quite a week for Will Kennedy. Five winners in the space of three days would be enough to put a smile on the face of any jockey but Kennedy was positively beaming after a double on the Donald McCain-trained pair Testify and Cousin Oscar gave him a new personal best tally for a season.

Having rode a treble for McCain at Carlisle on Wednesday, the former champion conditional linked up with the trainer again to reach the all-important 48 mark - and he is now in touching distance of fulfilling his target of half a century.

"I came up three short last season and there's a good few weeks left," Kennedy said. "It's always nice to stay injury-free and go past your previous season, and the association with Donald has worked out really well. He has his team in great form and I like to ride positively, which seems to suit the horses."
