Recent addition Hint Of Grey off the mark for Moore and Kirby
Hint Of Grey is a recent addition to Gary Moore's stable, owner Catherine Reed having moved a clutch of horses from Don Cantillon so they can be nearer to her Reigate home, and a very welcome one she is too.
Her success under Adam Kirby in the second division of the 1m3½f handicap was the third of the batch to win in a week, after Canberra Cliffs and Hollywood Road last Thursday, while Reed's well fancied Stormingin went close in the 1m1f handicap only half an hour later, finishing a length and a quarter second to the Jim Boyle-trained Man Of Harlech, who headed him off when the pair went for the same gap straightening up and then held on well.
Reed was philosophical about defeat and pointed out: "I've usually been lucky here. I've had 13 winners here at least, as Tauber won 11 here [more than 25 years ago] before Hollywood Road and Hint Of Grey."
