Ralph Beckett's excellent run of form continued as his only runner of the day, Sammy Sunshine, toughed it out in the final furlong of the mile maiden.

The end of the Flat turf season has done little to abate Beckett's hot streak, with the trainer recording nine winners from 26 runners in the last two weeks including three of his last four.

Winless in five, Sammy Sunshine returned the 11-8 favourite after showing a liking for the unique test that is Southwell's Fibresand surface on her first start at the track.
