Rail strike brings a smile to Rowe after sale disappointment

It was a case of lose one, win one for Richard Rowe at opposite ends of Britain.

The trainer was at Doncaster sales and just missed out on the horse he was bidding for. But at that very moment 185 miles away at Kempton his revitalised Rail Dancer was landing a fourth win of the year as he took the opening apprentice handicap under David Egan.

"He had all sorts of problems but he has relaxed a bit now," Rowe said of the 2-1 winner. "He had a little operation on a kissing spine and he took a while to recover from that but he has come to himself now.
