Quality not quantity for Dettori as 50-year-old again shows age is just a number

Frankie Dettori got into character and treated racegoers to a flying dismount as he warmed up for Classic weekend at Epsom.

His trademark celebration is ordinarily reserved for the biggest days, but the jockey, never one to let down an adoring crowd, could not resist and even let out a couple of cheers after scoring at Haydock.

"It was quite weird when I was cantering down to the start for the second race and people on the rail were shouting my name," said Dettori. "I became accustomed to no spectators over the last 18 months or so – it's great to have an atmosphere at the track again."
