Prince comeback victory has Varian looking to next year

One-time Investec Derby plunge horse Uae Prince added some
much-needed colour to a grey and drab afternoon when getting his career back on course with a comfortable victory in the 1m4f maiden which had trainer Roger Varian predicting better to come next year.

In the spring all the Newmarket dogs were barking Uae Prince’s name and he was supported at big prices for the Epsom Classic, only for all hopes to evaporate after he was a beaten odds-on favourite here in April.

He had not been seen since but a somewhat relieved Varian expressed himself happy with the comeback success, saying: “That is what we hoped he would do as he has always worked like a very nice horse at home.”
