Pretty Baby proved an apt winner on ladies' day when becoming the shortest-priced winner ever of the Listed EBF Weatherbys General Stud Book Kilvington Stakes.

Not surprisingly, the 10-11 chance had many supporters in the 6,000-strong crowd and Paul Hanagan was always in the right place on the daughter of Orpen, who asserted at the furlong pole before going clear to give trainer William Haggas a first win in the Listed sprint.

A step up in class beckons for the three-year-old, who was sporting the colours of in-form Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum.
