Poppy power as Bridgwater continues phenomenal run with De Vegas Kid

She might not be quite as popular as Roy Rocket just yet but apprentice rider Poppy Bridgwater is quickly becoming a fans' favourite at Brighton and the 7lb claimer continued her golden run at the track when De Vegas Kid made it two wins in 24 hours in the 7f handicap.

Trained by another course specialist in Tony Carroll, De Vegas Kid was one of two winners at the idiosyncratic seaside course for Bridgwater on Sunday and her latest win means she has now partnered eight winners from just 19 rides at Brighton.

“I love Brighton and it does seem to be a lucky course for me but Tony’s horses all seem to run well here and they’re easy to steer,” said the bubbly 20-year-old.
