Pondus pulls out all the stops in Lenebane Stakes after trading at 99-1 mid-race

Joseph O'Brien looks to have another quality staying prospect on his hands in the shape of Pondus, who showed courage to land the Listed Lenebane Stakes on just his second start for the trainer.

The mount of Wayne Lordan, sent off the 6-4 favourite, looked in trouble when trying to quicken from off a slow pace, hitting a running high of 99-1 on the exchanges.

However, Lloyd Williams' new recruit rattled home to pick off Camphor in the closing stages by two and a quarter lengths, shaping as though he should be up to staying further than the 1m4f trip.
