The sun shone bright on a pleasant winter’s day at Hereford. That has been half the problem for the last two months.

A dearth of significant rainfall combined with an inability to sufficiently water the track resulted in the first two meetings of the campaign on October 17 and November 14 being transferred to Worcester, while two point-to-point meetings fell by the way side in the spring.

It was third time lucky for this campaign on Wednesday much to the delight of everyone present at the track’s ABF The Soldiers’ Charity raceday, no more so than clerk of the course Libby O’Flaherty.
