The rearranging of Royal Ascot's programme could benefit connections of Sparkling Perry, with the filly a potential contender for the Queen Mary after a 25-1 success in the 6f novice stakes for fillies.

Trainer James Given did nominate Sparkling Perry for the BHA's two-year-old's exemption list, but she badly needed her debut at Newcastle on the second day of racing's resumption, finishing last of 12.

However, the daughter of Fountain Of Youth proved that form all wrong with a gutsy success under James Sullivan, holding the late thrust of Magisterium by a neck.
