Perfect day for Kevin Ryan as he lands 181-1 hat-trick with his only runners

One of the longest and worst winters in recent years has not affected the horses of Kevin Ryan, whose flying start to the turf campaign hit a new high when he landed a 181-1 hat-trick with his only three runners on the card. He has now sent out ten winners in the past 14 days.

Based in the hills at Hambleton above Thirsk, Ryan described the winter as "horrendous", but added: "It didn't seem to affect the horses as thankfully they've been in good form."
