Lorcan Williams celebrates landmark win aboard Truckers Lodge

A delighted wave of the whip to the Uttoxeter crowd signified the importance of a red-letter day for conditional Lorcan Williams after partnering Truckers Lodge to victory in the Marston's 61 Deep Midlands Grand National.

A first winner for Williams at the Staffordshire course, on the tenth attempt, never looked in too much doubt in the 4m2f marathon contest and sealed a first win in the race for Paul Nicholls.

Truckers Lodge, owned by Gordon and Su Hall, jumped tremendously, travelled sweetly and stayed on resolutely to win by 18 lengths from Captain Drake with Joe Farrell back in third in the £150,000 race.
