Patrick's cross-card double caps great day for team Mullins

On another huge day for the Willie Mullins stable, the trainer's son Patrick got in on the act by riding two of the yard's six winners.

After winning the opener at Limerick on Some Neck, Mullins made the 120-mile journey to Leopardstown in plenty of time to land the 2m4f bumper on Ballyward, who trounced his rivals by 16 lengths and made it back-to-back across-the-card six-timers for the stable.

Runner-up in his only point-to-point, Ballyward appreciated every yard of the trip and drew clear in the straight, though his trainer believes he will be effective over two miles on more testing ground.
