Since returning from an enforced mid-summer lay off, apprentice Hollie Doyle has done little wrong and she partnered her 22nd winner of the season when Paint, trained by her boss Richard Hannon, took the spoils in the mile nursery.

Doyle broke her collarbone in a fall at Goodwood in June but the setback certainly has not affected her confidence and determination, which she illustrated perfectly by bringing the Lady Rothschild-owned filly with a well-timed run to take the spoils.

The 5-2 favourite was settled in mid-division by the apprentice in the early part of the contest before the pair made good headway a quarter of a mile from home and finished with gusto to assert inside the final furlong, getting the better of Dark Blue by three-quarters of a length.
