One More Fleurie bounces back to form with jumping masterclass
One More Fleurie bounced back to form and landed the 3m novice handicap chase with a clean round of jumping under Charlie Todd.
The seven-year-old was on a hat-trick when falling at Fakenham last time but returned with a confident display to win by nine lengths.
"He's done well and showed confidence over his fences," said trainer Ian Williams. "His jumping has won him the race and he met the fences on lovely strides. There will be more races for him this year."
On the march
Fergal O'Brien edged closer to his first century of winners when Onagatheringstorm stayed on best to land the 2m5f maiden hurdle.
The six-year-old, who is owned by Craig and Laura Buckingham, scored for the first time under rules when finishing five and a half lengths clear of 40-1 shot Fat Sam under Paddy Brennan.
"We're delighted with his performance," O'Brien told Racing TV. "He's come forward from his run at Uttoxeter. He'll be better stepping up in trip. He didn't do a lot in front but pricked his ears after the last."
Off the mark
Imperial Knight got off the mark at the 13th attempt for Middleham Park and Ban Pauling when winning the 3m2f handicap hurdle.
After finishing second four times, the nine-year-old finally got his nose in front when beating High Counsel by a length and a half.
