Old servant Universe delivers treble for Weld and Smullen

It was another good day in Kerry for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen with Aydoun, Araqeel and Hidden Universe delivering a treble for the duo and making if five winners from five runners at this week's Listowel festival for the trainer.

Aydoun looked a smart stayer when making all for a debut win in the 1m4f maiden. The Aga Khan-owned son of Mastercraftsman scored by four and three quarter lengths, impressing Smullen in the process.

"He is quite idle at home but he did it well and is a good strong stayer. He kept increasing the pace and went on the ground. You'd have to be impressed, "said Smullen who was completing a double having taken the 1m maiden on the Weld-trained Araqeel.
