There is nothing like good friends when you need them and Sam Thomas has one at hand in Jamie Moore.

Thomas, winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Denman in 2008, came to Fontwell with one horse, Jamrham, as he sought a second winner since launching his new career as a trainer a year ago.

Having a first ride for his mate was Moore, who was ecstatic at delivering an eight-length success in the 2m3f handicap chase, worth £3,249 to the winning connections but surely a greater sum in satisfaction to the trainer and jockey.
