My Renaissance has proved you do not need a fortune to buy a winner. He cost just £600 at Ascot in August 2016 and made it six wins since joining trainer Sam England in the 2m½f handicap chase.

Sent off second favourite at 9-2 behind Dan Skelton's even-money shot Citadel, My Renaissance made virtually all under the trainer's husband Jonathan, and after the market leader had come down at the second-last he was ridden clear to get the better of Stormbay Bomber by eight lengths.

The winner now runs in the colours of Lynne Pearson and Diane Mulcahy and was gaining the seventh win of his 49-race career.
