O'Brien closes in on Frankel record after 20th Group 1 win of the season

Aidan O'Brien did set a new record by winning a sixth Group 1 at Newmarket this year. What is still up for debate is whether he can break Bobby Frankel's feat of 25 Group 1 successes in a year.

When asked the question after Churchill's Dewhurst success, O'Brien smiled and shrank away from the answer but was happy to outline plans for some of the upcoming Group 1s after his fourth Group 1 strike inside a week.

While many bookmakers muddy the waters by giving O'Brien the Triumph Hurdle in making it 21 wins this year the record needs him to find six more top-level Flat victories to be ratified by historians.
