Any temptation to downgrade O O Seven's Steel Plate And Sections win on account of the tendon injury suffered by hot favourite Barters Hill should be firmly resisted.

It was unfortunate, to say the least, that Ben Pauling's stable star had to be pulled up with a circuit to go, but this race was not all about Barters Hill as all seven runners had hurdles marks of between 140 and 150, and three of them were already winners over fences.

O O Seven was always perfectly placed in a race run at an unusually strong gallop thanks to Its'afreebee, aided first by Barters Hill and then by Sizing Tennessee, and the prowess for fencing he had evidently been showing in his schooling was soon evident.
