Nube Negra leaves Skeltons excited by future over fences after Fakenham romp

Nube Negra showcased his potential as a top-level chaser after a beautiful round of jumping saw him win the 2m½f novice chase at Fakenham by ten lengths.

The five-year-old was only taking on four rivals and had his job made easier after Ar Mest unseated Jamie Moore, but the manner in which Nube Negra jumped his fences was eyecatching with Harry Skelton excited to find out how good his mount can be.

"There was always a little bit of doubt coming here but he’s done that perfectly – obviously he’s really good," Skelton said to Sky Sports Racing. "He’ll go up in class now and could be one for the Henry VIII at Sandown but Dan [Skelton, trainer] will have a look in the book and see where we go next."
