No ton for Gordon as Our Man In Havana spoils party

Josephine Gordon, who made the trip to Wolverhampton in search of an elusive 100th victory this season, came closest to recording the landmark figure when filling the runner-up spot on 7-4 shot Central City in the 7f nursery, her tenth placed runner in the last five days.

Dunstall Park, the venue where Hayley Turner landed her 100th winner back in 2008 – the only time a female jockey has hit three figures for a season – looked to be an ideal place for Gordon to do the business but Central City, who made most of the running, was worn down in the closing stages by Our Man In Havana.

Richard Price, trainer of Our Man In Havana, was glad he went over budget to pick up the winner from Tom Dascombe in a seller at the track in September and got £4,528,30 of his money back.
