Martyn Meade continued his recent fairytale period when teaming up with man of the moment Silvestre de Sousa to land the feature £15,000 1m1f nursery with Ship Of The Fen – a third winner from three mounts on the afternoon for the Brazilian rider nearing a second Flat jockeys’ title in three seasons.

Colin Murfitt, owner of Galileo Gold prior to selling the subsequent 2,000 Guineas winner to Al Shaqab Racing two years ago, celebrated his first winner trained by Meade with his first horse at Sefton Lodge, whose team have enjoyed Cambridgeshire and Prix de la Foret success in the last ten days.
