No messing as bargain-buy Meshardal wins tenth race for Carr

Course specialist Meshardal continued his great run of form by making it four wins for the season, four wins over the course and distance and the tenth of his career when coming late under Jack Garritty to land the 6f handicap.

He is trained by Ruth Carr, who said: "He loves it here and this didn't look as competitive a race as his last two Saturday handicaps. He's still reasonably treated as he hasn't got up to the mark he won off two years ago.

"I bought him from Shadwell at Newmarket's July sales four years ago for 7,500gns. I wish I could have got one like him at the same sales last week but they were much harder to buy."
