Jack Berry's decision to send Just For the Craic to Ruth Carr to train proved fruitful as it resulted in the in-form trainer having her first-ever two-year-old winner when the gelding came late under Jimmy Sullivan to land the claimer.

Unfortunately, Carr wasn't on hand to see it as she was on her way to the sales at Newmarket.

The story didn't hold much hope when the son of Most Improved went through the ring at the St Leger Sales at Doncaster last August. He was a bad box walker, and was knocked down to a maiden bid of £3,000 from veteran trainer David Elsworth standing alongside Berry.
