New-look Little Windmill grinds them into submission again for King
The benefits of wind intervention are contested but it appears to have done no harm to the aptly-named Little Windmill, who made it three wins from six since surgery.
From figures of 431131 look good for a horse who had won four times in 37 tries before the treatment – and so did the style of victory in the 3m1½f handicap chase.
The eight-year-old, who mixes it up over hurdles and fences and was backed into 5-2 favouritism from 6-1, led from the start and jumped superbly in the sunshine under Wayne Hutchinson for a seven-length win.
