Neon Wolf's Cheltenham race has yet to be decided for his legion of supporters but his connections warmed up with a big-race success when Minella Awards won the Grade 3 final of the EBF Hurdle series.

Owner Michael Masterson and trainer Harry Fry were keeping their counsel about Neon Wolf for another 24 hours in the light of uncertainty over the weather.

Instead it was Noel Fehily who got the attention for his ride on Minella Awards, who looked an also-ran coming out of the back straight under pressure before running down his rivals to lead before the last and hold Prime Venture in the Matchbook-sponsored contest.
