National the target for feature winner Goodtoknow
Fortune certainly favoured the brave in attritional conditions and it was the Kerry Lee-trained pair – Goodtoknow and Mountainous – who fitted the bill as they ploughed their way home in the feature 3m1f handicap chase to land a one-two for the trainer.
Only three of the 11 runners completed and it was Goodtoknow, ridden by Jake Greenall, who held the aces in the closing stages over his stablemate to pass the post with seven lengths to spare.
Lee said: “It wasn't the plan to send out first and second but we will take the result with a smile as it is the plan to try to get Goodtoknow into the Grand National as that is what he was bought for. Hopefully he'll go up 10lb and get in now.
