My round! Irish Prophecy owner keen on Badger Beers target

A return to Wincanton could be on the cards for the Emma Lavelle-trained Irish Prophecy, who ran out an impressive four-and-a-half- length winner of the feature Desert Orchid Silver Cup under Ben Jones.

The eight-year-old built on a promising fifth at Chepstow this month and relished the step up to an extended three miles two furlongs, which bodes well for a potential tilt at the £60,000 Badger Beers Handicap Chase on November 6.

Winning owner-breeder Nicholas Mustoe said on Racing TV: "He loves this ground. I do think the Badger Beers would be a lovely race to aim at. The ground is absolutely critical but I do think it’s the sort of target we would go for."

Mister marches on for hot Honeyball

Mister Allegro made it two from two over obstacles when taking the 1m7f juvenile hurdle under Rex Dingle, following up a shock 40-1 success at Ludlow this month.

The three-year-old, who holds an entry in the Listed juvenile hurdle at Wetherby on Friday, continued the sparkling form of trainer Anthony Honeyball, who has saddled five winners from 18 runners this season.

Adrian Heskin chased home Mister Allegro on the Alan King-trained Sonning and he endured more frustration when another McNeill family-owned odds-on favourite, Shearer, managed only second in the 2m5½f novice hurdle.

The Paul Nicholls-trained bumper winner was overturned by 11-2 shot Grosvenor Court, ridden by Tom Cannon to ensure that King did not leave empty-handed.

Firsts all round

Trainer Claire Harris had a nervous wait as a photo was called to decide the outcome of the 2m5½f handicap hurdle. Getalead, running for Harris for only the second time, flashed past the post with 7-2 joint-favourite Translink, with the former eventually announced the winner by a nose.

That gave the Devon-based trainer a first winner under rules, and he was ridden by David Prichard, who enjoyed his own first win of the season.
