Mullins upbeat about beaten favourite Kemboy with Irish Gold Cup in mind

Kemboy looks set for a crack at the Irish Gold Cup in February, with Willie Mullins believing the 7-4 favourite provided reason for optimism despite defeat on his Christmas comeback.

The seven-year-old was nudged out by bookmakers to a general 6-1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March but is still favourite with plenty of firms.

"I'm very pleased with him," said Mullins, after his runner returned from a 241-day absence. "He arrived there with a chance but it was just the lack of a run, I'm sure.
