Mullins named leading trainer after landing final-day treble

A final day treble capped off by Sharjah's Grade 1 success in the Ryanair Hurdle was enough for Willie Mullins to top the trainers' list at Leopardstown's Christmas festival with six winners.

The champion trainer had a clean sweep in the Grade 3 mares' hurdle with 9-2 shot Good Thyne Tara leading home stablemates Elimay and odds-on favourite Limini in the 2m4f event.

"I thought she'd run well but I'm a bit surprised she won," said Mullins of the Nigel King-owned winner, who was recording her fifth win over hurdles. "She's been kept busy but the more she does, the more she improves.
