"THIS will go right to the top." That was the verdict of William Muir after Phijee was an impressive winner of the 6f novice auction stakes under Sam Hitchcott.

The two-year-old was beaten just a nose on his debut at Newbury on July 7, having got lonely in front, and Muir said: "He should have won at Newbury and for me to have a two-year-old win first time out they're normally black type, and this will be black type."

Martin Graham's colt was the only runner on the card for Muir, who had driven the 285 miles from Lambourn to Carlisle.
