Mudlover Bold gives Bastiman third winner from last three runners

Rebecca Bastiman: last three runners have all won

Trainer Rebecca Bastiman made it three winners from her last three runners when Be Bold landed the second 6f handicap. That's a fine strike-rate by any standards, but it is even more impressive considering she has just 18 horses in her Wetherby yard.

The first two were Royal Brave and See Vermont at Musselburgh on Tuesday, and Be Bold, who runs in the colours of Marie Austerfield, brought up the hat-trick with a length success over Deben under Connor Beasley.

The trainer said: "The horses are flying, and long may it continue. The ground is the key to this horse as he loves the soft ground and blinkers have also helped him."
