There won't have been many more impressive beginners chase victories than that of Moulin A Vent at Fairyhouse on Saturday, as Noel Meade's chaser bolted up at the third attempt over fences in the hands of Sean Flanagan.

The long-held suspicion that the grey galloper would make into a better chaser than hurdler was well and truly confirmed here, as the Patricia Hunt-owned five-year-old dazzled the Fairyhouse crowd with an 18-length hammering of his extended 2m7f beginners chase field.

A delighted Meade confirmed: "He had a real problem jumping hurdles but he jumped well last time at Navan and Sean said he felt very good today. He could climb high enough."
