Morley's pick Mr Pocket starts to repay his investment

Mr Pocket put his head down for his rider Franny Norton where it mattered in the latest ROA/Racing Post owners' jackpot race to hold off favourite Super Julius by a short head and give his buyer Tom Morley an immediate return on his February outlay.

Morley, whose mother Julia shares the four-year-old with Richard Penney and Allen Rix, picked Mr Pocket out of the February Tattersalls sales for 26,000gns and got an immediate return.

"We gelded him and gave him a little break," said Morley, who has around 20 horses with his mother in training with Robert Cowell and Stuart Williams.
