They have been racing on Newmarket’s heath for 350 years, as the track’s marketeers have been shouting proudly about all year.

But for all that has passed before, Aidan O’Brien’s achievements this season are unique to any lifetime on the ancient heath, and his mastery was again the talk of the town on another Group 1 Saturday.

Part of the track’s birthday celebrations this year was the creation of a limited edition Monopoly board game, and monopoly is the only word needed to describe O’Brien’s stranglehold on races at the top level this season.
